    Pool noodles

    Hello Tyler

I saw the video that properchopper posted about your boat...That cat is flying all way around, and the acceleration from that to the other ones is like apple to oranges
You had the same problem i have...mine 3 of the 5 capacitors the speed controller has, got one of the legs completely corroded!!!!
Mine will follow tomorrow trough the mail to germany.....Hope to see your boat pulling wheelies..

Best Regards, and keep doing the good work...

      Carbon/kevlar reinforced hatches are fine.
IF they are not the only thing reinforced !
You must also reinforce the areas around the hatch-opening in the deck !
What's the use of a rigid hatch if the deck all around will flex/break ?

Yeah, I hope to have everything back and repaired before our next SAW event in October.

BTW, I just got a new hatch for my DF33 thanks to Tony Heller and I will have to look into a more secure method of keeping the hatch down for all boats.

            Saw

            Yep Tyler, i hope too.....

One of mine dreams next year is to go to the American SAW.
I don´t know what i would have to do, mainly about logistic in the airplane, but it would be awesome, meeting most of you, and learn a lot more from all of you!!!

By the way, i have pool noodles inside all of the front of the boat, and in the side too!
You can see that bleu foam parts in the picture, even though it didn´t hold the boat in the surface..

Regards to all, and look at mine experience....

I'm really glad you got it back. At the 2008 LA SAWs a team member was making passes with his DF Sniper 10S mono when it flipped (in the video it appeared to have hit something - a fish?). The hatch caved-in big time, but he saved the boat.

In 2003 Tim Higdon sank his T-Hydro SAW boat at Legg and didn't find the Schulze 40-160 until the next morning. The legs on the FETs and chips were badly corroded, I never did hear if it was reparable. That water is NASTY!

My story was in 2006 - I set two Offshore records at Legg but the then-new computerized equipment lost one of my times! I had to do another run with the Q boat, but ran over my own wake and tripped. The wooden boat snagged a sponson tip and disintegrated. All I got back were the two foam sponsons, a piece of deck and the receiver. Even with plenty of flotation, it the hull breakes into pieces, you're scre*ed.

                    Gerardo,

It's not as bad as you think. If you can break your boat down to fit into a hard golf bag or Rifle case.

If you do decide to come out, let me know I'll help in any way I can.

You will learn a lot and probably no where else besides some of the German Cat events will you see as many 100+ mph riggers. Next year should be exiting.

Great you have your boat back but what is even greater is that you are alive after diving

Boat was underwater 10 minutes until i dived into 10 feet deep water....

Tyler, thanks in advance for your friendship....

Yes...i guess i will see a lot of 100mph rigger...and you will see mine 100mph rigger too....Not going to earn any prize, but it will leave mine "wake"..Like properchopper told...I´m a the king of mine own shower...LOLOLLLOL..I´m the only one inside it...

Thanks for your attention Lipo Power....I understood what you have told me...!
I took a small degree of scuba diving...i swim since 5 years old...and feel very comfortable inside water....
I dived from a boat above me,and if i needed help there were 2 persons inside the boat, that could have helped me!
Either ways, i do not recommend in any way anyone to do that!!!!
Our life is priceless, compared to any 10000$ Rc boat....I Only did that beacuase i felt secured...

I did not do a good job taping as it was just a test run one way, guess what, boat flipped, hatch came out and two batteries came out and sunk.
Boat and hatch did have flotation but the boat and hatch both landed correct side up so no water got in but the batteries were gone.
I came back about 26 hour later at low tide, we play in the river close to ocean, found the batteries 1cm away from the water.
the balancing tabs corroded away and I had to replace them but the rest was ok and batteries are still functional 100%.

                            Gerardo,

It would be great to have you come out and run. I can't remember how many cells you ran in your SAW rigger, but regardless I can almost garuantee you will pick up several MPH just by talking to the collective group that hangs out at Legg during SAW events. I did!
The lake is close to LAX airport so you only need one plane ticket and a suitcase.

I have to work on Anbjorn too to come over with his Sniper 44...

                                Simple right?
