    SV 7xl

Super quick video of a SV with a 7xl in it. Only got 1 full speed pass and not even that far before the esc cut out. Aquastar issues. I know it's a wire short somewhere either one of the discharge wires on the batts I used or on the esc it's self. It lost power, I'll slap some different lipos in tomorrow to determine if it was the batts or esc then I will repair. and get more vid no big deal. Part of the fun of RC.

    haha! thats cool.

I'm actually halfway done this same build on my SV27R. Stock was just not cutting it for me, considering my shockwave 26RS brushless conversion was faster on 2S than the stock SV on 4S....

You really need more than a 120 amp esc for a 7xl. I popped caps on a etti 150 with a 8xl and a x440/3 in a ul-1. The sv has more drag, and the 7xl will pull more amps.

dang, that was a mean teaser. sweet lake too looks like perfect conditions. that's when its nice to have multiple boats - run em until they are all dead, broke, sunk or nomobatts.

          I'm stayin tuned!

I tried that motor years ago. Works. Not the best choice. To run the SV27 fast the hull needs to be loose and the amp spikes will end up being hard on the batts and speedo. There are better motor choices. Play. Have fun. Look at what is working for others. Sport is one thing. Racing in another. Somewhere in between is the answer. And of course some lessons need to be learned the hard way.

It sucks when something smokes, but it sure is fun pushing things to the limits. I have a Geico on the way so more vids to come and the skunk cat is still in the works, lots of toys and not a lot of time.

This was pretty much a me being bored thing. My SV runs AMAZING, it is normally stocked with UL power and runs mid to high 40s. I took that power out stuck it in my H&M and had a 120 and a 7xl laying around the house so I said what the hell. Is it the best choice hell no I agree with you on that, but was it fun HELL YEA. You can click the SV link in my signature and see how it normally runs. I also have a bet with my old lady for 60mph in my SV. I have a xtra cap added to that 120 as well.

I had that 7xl and 120 in my ul-1. Found another hairline crack in the hull so took all the electrics out. Video with it is in my signature. I think that hull is about to be retired.
