I saw that video some time ago, it sure runs nice! I couldn't see myself spending what was probably over 15k dollars on an rc boat though no matter how good it was. And if I was rich enough that 15k was chump change I'd just buy a real miss geico! Not that 2010 one with wings though!!

AGREED! It's just too much money to risk. The reason you never see them taking turns like this is prob. because on flip, and it's toast. Imagine how many awesome FE boats you could build with 15g's!

I'd take turbine power over FE any day of the week month day or year! Maybe one day they will get cheaper but I kinda doubt it.

                  Holy crap!! I

I can build someone a boat for 15k! I might be charging 14.5k for labor tho.

It does sound VERY cool and cool to say!

Those turbines cost a pretty penny though and that hull can't be far behind if it's behind at all!

Oh yea! I looked into it a while ago! i saw the price of a compressor blade and that was over my budget!

A friend of mine Doug down in texas was videotaping this in florida with another couple of folks, the guy made some outrageous claims and doug sent me the clip and the recorded convo. I ended up in the middle of a nasty debate a few months back.

I got into it with the builder of that boat in a phone convo (after he called me) he stated that his twin turbine was doing over 100 mph, i called him on it, i even explained why with a detailed lesson of the second stage slip and why it was impossible right now with the P60. He also made claims that were false about hp of the turbines etc. I told him to make corrections but he refused.

I have tons of data to the contrary. Even with the newer second stages i had made for my jetcats the compressor slip will be to great at high rpm to hit 100 mph unless i have a huge flat run and thats impractical. Unless jetcat builds a larger marine version they will hang at the low 90's high 80s.

No sleep lost on my side. And on a pratical standpoint if you have seen the folks looking at their destroyed turbine rigs (i have seen three) you will see why most attempts at the century mark have stopped for turbines. My programming wont go past 80, governed, (my choice) and thats fine by me. of course both of mine and the boat are insured.

Yes the big boys turn on a dime Rumdog.

In that vid he is hitting mid 70, if that.

Loans and insurance on a radio control boat is just absurd! It is REALLY nice even if it only did 60mph but if I had that kinda money to spend on an RC boat I'd rather just give my 15-18k away to some poor family who needs it. If it was built over a long period of time I could understand it but most of these guys just pay somebody to build them the best boat possible and don't care how much it cost or even know anything about them.
