How were the temps? Do you think you could prop up?

      My 29" mono is running up to an x448 / x646 on 4S, but I have a 1500kv motor...

        7xl is a lot of kv especially in a mono. my df 32 ran a 9xl 4s 447/3. ran low 50s.
to get good speed from the df hulls you want it running loose

prop is small. Which is necessary for that hot motor. Go with a 8 or 9xl and prop up. It will fly!

I got the 7xl from a friend ,was free so that is why I used 7xl. I have castle/neu 2200 also and yes it is faster, but that is heavy motor and I dont have a cooling jacket for it yet.

I want to use the 7xl and I belive that the esc timing was too low.

the motor has upgraded(50.000rpm) bearings and temps were 40-45C after every run.(motor and esc).

It does run a bit wet,but that is because that gps was at front, without it the boat was flying! -will try to post a video later w/o gps.

the weird part was that the s220 was slower then x440...-too big prop?

                  Pate.
Set the timing to 15 degrees. 7 degrees is too low on the Xl series motors.
I had a 7Xl in mine for a while on 15 degrees & the best prop was the X437/3blade. Can't remember the exact speed but it did crack 80km/h.
But as others have suggested loosen it up a bit.
                  All the best.
                  Paul.
See the danger. THEN DO IT ANYWAY!!!
