    Miss Llumar brushless conversion

My 2nd run on the miss llumar brushless setup. 4s lipo, feigao 9xl, turnigy 120, x442. No gps read yet. It was a little windy so I only got full throttle a couple of times. Its my first hydro so I'm a little nervous about the handling. Is it normal for the right front sponson to lift out of the water under hard acceleration??

It is if your turn fin is causing it to lift... make sure it's aligned correctly, then play with the rotation of it around it's mounting points until you can get this to go away. I'm assuming you have a stock turn fin??

I'm pretty sure the turn fin is not stock, and I'm not sure how it should look. I'll get back to you with a couple of pics. Thanks!!

Here is a few pics of the turn fin. It is a twisted liquid racing fin, with the rudder to match. It doesnt look right to me. A little please!

If you want, you could buy the stock turn fin, it should be better then the one you have on there now.

Throw a ul-1 fin on there. For the time being though, angle that one back towards the stern a bit.

I think I got the turn fin figured out. Running much better now. Ran it today with a x642 and got 44mph on the gps. Pretty happy with those results. I am finding that the hydro likes the smooth water and full speed with a little chop is kinda sketchy on this hull. Of course it was only designed to hit mid-30's in stock nitro form.

yabbut, mine did 60 and still handled like a champ! it weighed in at just over 6lbs running on 6S and stock motor - 120amp ESC and the very prop you have. 44 is a great speed and very fun, over that it gets hairy and you need a second set of draws.

Did yours do 60 with the stock stuffing tube and strut? I know it sets really deep in the water.
