Heres its maiden voyage. My first wood build and first rigger. With the help of Doug Smock, I think she turned out pretty good.

      Well done sir!!
I know you were reluctant to build the boat having never built a wood boat. Tell the truth, was it worth the effort??
      Congratulations!!!

Yes it's well worth all that sanding! This thing corners.

Now that you have seen the light and begun to build with wood you will see those horrible glass and carbon things in a different way.

The sanding and sealing is most of the fun.
There are few things that give as much pleasure as seeing something you have built go like hell on the water. I know !!

Well done and keep up the wood work.
            See it....find the photos.....sketch it it....build it........with wood

Well good news is I got a 1450 flying. According to my battery usage I'm pulling around 70 amps. Bad news is my motor shorted out. Less than a minute in it quit. No smoke just smell. Temps were under 90 degrees. Kinda weird. Hopefully I can get another one so I can get some video of it.

That's the first thing I checked. I thought it may be the esc so I hooked it up to another one and she started to smoke a little. Motor only cogs. I'll try to take it apart later to see.

Yuck... Smoke is never good... However, if the connection is bad on the motor side changing the controller won't make much of a difference...

                      Good Luck,

                          It's a UL-1 motor.

Well I got to run it today with a new UL-1 motor and it seems slow. I will cycle my batteries and try again later.
