My slightly modded Impulse 31 V2

    Running videos here:
    http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...4-1400kv-motor

This is my Impulse 31 V2, with a few modifications! As this is my first FE RC Boat, it is also my test rig

    List of mods:

    - Hifei Swordfish Pro+ 200A-8S ESC (mainly for the data logging feature)
    - Leopard 4074-B 1400kv motor
    - Kintec 4074 water cooling jacket
    - Traxxas 2056 Servo
    - Octura Flex Hex 5mm to .187 collet
    - Aeromarine .187 with hardened stub and drive dog
    - OSE upgraded turn fins
    - Kintec 3mm ID cooling lines
    - Half-dual cooling loop setup (blatantly copied from THIS Impulse 31 )
    - Aeomarine Large Bore water outlets
    - Dual 6.8mm cooling inlet rings
    - Castle Creations 6.5mm polarized bullets
    - Stock MR200 Receiver (waterproofed with liquid electrical tape)
    - Running both antennas inside the hull, one on each side.
    - Venom 1600mAh 6v receiver pack

I am planning on installing teflon bushings in the strut, but haven't figured out how to remove the strut itself

This is a 6S setup using two Venom 3S 5000mAh 35C lipos, though I use two 2S 5000mAh for bashing and setup testing as well.

I use CNC Aluminium props, the boat runs best with a VXP V445 (Octura M445 equivalent). I have a V642 which while quick had a lot of ventilation due to the small blade area. Also have an X440/3 which I haven't tested yet

Thats a beefy setup, nice. Should be a 45-48 mph boat with the x445.
NEED PARALLEL CONNECTORS?? QUALITY 5.5MM, 8MM, 8 AND 10 AWG, GET THEM HERE: http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...est!&highlight=

Thank you! I would've stepped up to a V448 prop, but the rudder at full left lock just barely clears the 445. Ideally I would prefer an M545, but I don't want to risk ruining a Beryllium Copper prop in saltwater

Try a Prather s220....it's stainless and has about the same pitch as the m545

That's a great idea! I haven't really looked into Prathers yet, but will try that prop.

Zed- nice setup! I ordered the same Leopard 4074 1400kv to put in my Impulse. Found that the 25mm motor mount spacing on the Leo doesn't fit the stock spacing on the motor mount that came with the impulse. But it looks like use used the stock motor mount? How'd you make it work?

              Thanks DT!

Do you have the V1 version or the V2 version? I'm not sure if there's a difference, but the stock motor mount in the IM31V2 fit my 4074 perfectly.

Here's some pics of the mount, with the Dynamite 1500kv motor I used to run (same can as stock motor). The only change is the screws.

It might work by rotating the motor in the mount until the holes line up with the grooves in the mount. Let me know how it goes!

Nice Setup, My buddy and I are setting up our impulses very similar to yours. How are you supporting the rear motor mount. I know the OSE rear mount comes with the carbon mounts on the sides but I don't se them on yours.

Thanks stangguy73! I put the mount on there but haven't really worked on fabbing out a support for it just yet. The front mount seems to hold up just fine, even during some pretty violent crashes.
