    Cheetah finally done!

After almost 2 yrs. and some heath problems I was able to get my Cheetah done. I Dura Glassed all the seems and the transom. I also blue printed the ride pads as well as the sponson mod. I then painted the whole thing in white Lacquer. I then used my air brush for the first time and added the green flames and wind shield. All finished off with 5 coats of Lacquer clear. It's not Show quality but it is Go quality. It is powered by a Leopard 4092 (2080), with a Swordfish 240 (V1) turning a cnc 448 prop running on 4s Haiyins. I hope to get it in the water in the next week or two.

Very nice clean build, I like it. I'm pretty sure you're gonna need to move the batteries up 2 or 3 inches, but run it first and see.

                Thank You.
As for the flames, they are Sub Lime Green Metallic over Championship White.
With the batteries where they are at it is balanced right at 30%. Will run it like that and see how it does, got plenty of room to move them if needed.
Yes will get video as soon as I get it in the water.

I've got a Cheetah set up twin, with the sponson mod and hull blueprinted. These hulls run awsome, here's a video of mine https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CWlCxsirqQY

Very nice build. Sometimes the ones that take the longest turn out the best.

Is there a thread on the sponson mod?

Scott (Tiqueman) is the one that came up with the hull mod and he showed me how to do it, we're in the same club. Search his posts, I think there's some instruction on how to do it. It's kinda hard to explain without pics. If you put a strait edge the length of the steps, the last step has neg. angle and acts as a trim tab (Pushes the nose down). you need to build the front side of the last step up to match the first two steps. I used a wedge piece (1/8" @ the thickest end) of G-10, epoxied it on with the thick side forward and started sanding till it matched the first two steps. then painted to match, now the boat runs like it's on rails!

No problem. What I did for my sponson was use Dura Glass. I added some to the rear sponson to raise it up higher then the second one. I then took a piece of 1" by 2" and put sand paper on one half facing the right way to sand and on other half put sand paper backwards to keep level and started to sand the glass off till it was even with the first and second sponson. You could use Bondo but I would not as it is powder based and could hold water. Just do a little at a time until all sponson are even from front to back. Don't have to worry about the side of them just the bottom ride pad. You can see in the Second group of pics I put up, pic 4 & 5 show how they look when done.
