    Looks real good,
    But just a heads up.
The water lines on the motor jacket are on backwards,
You want the water to fill from the bottom or lowest point on the jacket nipple.
And than fill and over flow out the top at the highest point nipple,
Than go to the motor mount cooler and out of the boat.
It will cool the motor a lot better that way.
    ? ONLY IF THEY WORK

Well right now the genesis is spending the night on the pond. It was about 40ft off shore and it got dark before I could recover it. I was wide open cruising around than lost all power and it coasted to a stop. I've got no power what so ever. It's sitting still out there

Here's to hoping it holds off water til the am and drifts to shore

Why do you have the water pickup like that when there is one built into the rudder?

I didn't like the low water flow the rudder pickup produces

I went back at sunrise, and there was the boat about 5 feet off shore. I was able to snag it with a bobber on a fishing rod. It was holding about 6oz's of water. I didn't get to check to see if anything got damaged from sitting in water before going to work, but everything looks ok.

                Well, good to hear!
Just curious: since you went thru the trouble to make a water pick-up, why don't you use BOTH and make a dual warter cooling boat?! Did you try to check if the passage was blocked partially with the rudder pick-up?

the passage isnt blocked at all, it just doesnt flow as well as my external pick up. Im going to make it dual water cooling eventually just gotta be brave enough to drill the hull.

Any time you need to drill a hole on the hull, start with this: http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...od=dh-gpmr8130. I then start with a 1/16, 5/64,3/32, 7/64,1/8 , 9/64...basically if you have a set of drill bits, go from small to the size you need. Also having multiple sizes of round files help. The gel coat is what you need to be careful, it can chip away, even with this approach. Once you have the size right, if the edge of the hole is rough, file it with the correct size file if you have. Jusy yesterday I had to enlarge a hole for the antenna base, I still chipped a bit of gel coat, I dap a drop of thin CA, very little will do, just to "seal" the FG and any potential loose gel coat.

it's a $150 hull. I'm expecting gel coat to peel. Ive already nicked the gelcoat on the back when putting the water pick up on.

Hey cinnabun, does the "hole" in the rudder go through all the way to the bottom? If so you want to plug up the bottom, and you should have better flow with the rudder pickup.

It is blocked on the bottom, I dont know what it is, but the flow is alot less with the rudder than if I run the pick up I made.

So I came across a good deal. I found an x440/3 and a x442/2 locally. The guy has a lot he was going to sell me but all the props were x445 and bigger. I'm thinking they'll be too big for my genesis. If anyone is interested, I am going to purchase the lot and sell them for $17 a piece shipped. All props are s+b
