    80's MRP Pringles/Budweiser Hydroplane

Been lurking a while, first post! Had one of these BITD as a kid but didn't know much about boats (still don't) and it didn't take long for something to happen to it and it kept sinking.

I'm on the lookout for a complete boat, but until then I picked this up and it's what I'm working with. Missing the canopy, wing, and rudder...the cowling looked like it was cut out with left handed safety scissors but I cleaned it up as best I could. Other than the yellowing, the hull is in great shape, no cracks, doesn't seem to be brittle or weakened. Picked up a Spektrum Firma 90A ESC while Horizon had them on sale. Don't know much about marine brushless systems but from the reading I've done it seems like a 3660 2500-ish kv on 3S will be a good combo. Thinking about doing a Tide livery since it will need a repaint anyway, or a fantasy but period-correct Miss Crisco based on Brett Bodine's 1988 Crisco Thunderbird Winston Cup car since I have the decals for it already and ran that scheme racing RC10s converted to paved oval in the 80s. Kind of a theoretical P&G sponsored sister ship to the Mr. Pringles.

What to do about the canopy and wing? I might could fashion something from an airplane bubble canopy, but the wing will have to be scratchbuilt. Any recommendations? Sheet styrene? Light ply? How do you scale hydro guys usually attach the vertical stabs?

Hello the wings either get attached with a pice of aluminum that goes through the hull and wing and is attached with screws or I use airplane flaps the ones with a pin in them and then the wings can move left or right.
Some use balsa, some use styrene depending on the size they need. I am doing a combo of styrene and carbon fiber with foam to make my 1/10 scale wings supplied by hydro scale creations.
I will be updating my build thread soon with them as I am currently in the works on the wings.
