    1/8 scale motor: Plett HP 370BM/50 A1 S

Over on Intlwaters forum I asked about the limitation of motors for IMPBA 1/8 scale. There are a few of us that are wanting to change the rule to a can size so any brand of motor can be used. Don Ferrette has looked up the sizes of the current legal motors and has posted that a can size of 45 x 120 would work for 2 of the 3 current legal motors. The Plett HP 370BM/50 A1 S is a totally different animal at 56 x 81 and the question was brought up: How many of the Plett motors are actually being used in IMPBA 1/8 scale?

Now if you are using one of these or know someone using this motor and they race in IMPBA, could you please post it here.

    Thanks,

I have a couple of FE 1/8th Scales with the Plett 370 motor. A great choice.

Kevin with the MMEU just built a scale with a Plett. Looking forward to seeing it run this weekend.

Hey Jim, How do they compare to a Neu 1527 or Lehner 22 series?

The 370 is a 10 pole motor, and it has more torque and power than the 1527-1.5Y or a 2280. They come with a 10mm shaft and an integral cooling jacket. Quite a motor.
