ML Boatworks Newton 138 or 8255 10th scale build

My first scale build and close to skinning sponsons. Have 4 distinct angles. Do I square off the inner angle with the main ride pad or is it its own surface? 20161106_102331.jpg20161112_204928.jpg20161112_204934.jpg20161112_204939.jpg20161112_204945.jpg

looks like you have the right idea , you have the square sticks sanded down even with the ribs just do the same with the top stringer where your finger is pointing
I always reinforce the ribs with the sticks you buy with kit

I have built the sport 310 kits, and they have a square edge along the inside of each sponson with a step air box near the trailing edge of each sponson. This scale kit looks like it has an angle surface along the whole length on the inside of each sponson, similar to the nontrip on the outside of each. In the photos my finger points to 4 distinctly different surfaces to be skinned. Seems like it might cause the front to wash out in corners. Anyone have a finished bottom photo of the ML 8255 extreme hull? the first photo is the surface that concerns me a little bit.

        Here's a pic of a 1/8 scale version of the 8255.
The angled side skins each side of the ride pad are installed first & trimmed & sanded flush across where the ride pad is fitted.
Then the ride pad is shaped leaving the edges nice & square & then glued on.

Here's the build thread if it is any help.

The 8255 seems to be a very popular hull for scale builders. You see a lot of them out there. I guess it's because it's pretty wide and not too complicated and folks don't have to mess around with wings on it in most cases. It's a good one for a first build too. Not sure if you already have cowlings for the build, but it's one that I do make. I also have Merlin stacks if you need them to complete your project. Send an email if you need something.

Thanks Mitch, Frank here, I got a cowl from Brian B. but will need the headers. I might try to fabricate some but if that goes sideways, I will be in touch
