    Shredded Flex Shaft

Hello everyone new to the forums and been reading alot. Just upgraded the KOS p1 to run on 6s and shredded the flex shaft first 5 mins into the run. Im looking for a stronger replacement. Any ideas would be great. And by any chance does rcraceboats have a instock cable im trying to email them but for some reason it wont go through for me tonight.

No email yet. Probably get a 187 flex cable and remove the liner so it fits well. Should have no problems. What size is the shaft on those?

Try a .078 wire drive. A .187 flex won't fit in the stuffing tube, would need to replace that. Not sure what mods you have done though. The stock shaft is 4mm in the p1.

Where do you boat in NJ?

Isn't 6s on the stock motor way too much rpm?

Fightercat sells the 1600kvs that fit in the stock mount for about $27. 6s and this motor with a x640 would really haul. Stock motor on 6s will eventually lead to

I had that motor in mine on 5s and it was fast. I was the guinea pig for that motor, just don't do the clamp up too tight

I have the 2200kv for it but I haven't tried it yet. Would like to keep it 4s. Its a fast enough boat stock for my liking. I got it dialed decent but the boat is a little bit of a handful at times. I flip it a bunch going fast in chop. Its fun to watch though..lol

maybe someone know the specs exactly....

whats the cons if I were to remove the liner? as of now their is no water in the hull after any runs... I would like to keep it that way

What kind of differences wouldI notice by going to a wire drive besides durability? Would it make sense to upgrade to one if my current flex cable is trouble free? Also is this something that i can order and just cut down to size or is it something that has to be exact. This boat is a blast besides the fact that its hard to control in anything than calm water!

6s was way too much for stock motor i upgraded to a turnigy 1600kv and 120a turnigy ESC and wow this boat hauled dialed in. Got some turn fins installed as well so she handled great. Then lead to a shredded flex cable. Loking to replace but dont know what one to get.

                    I found these Wire Drives
                    3/16" x 2.25" .078 flex
Shafts. Step Down Shafts are 3/16 x
                    1/8 or

4mm steps UP to 3/16" Both with a .078 flex shaft. Im new to the boating scene and Venoms out of shafts till sometime in june. SO any ideas or input would be great.

Cool, there are about 10 different lakes I can go to but I mainly go to Lake Manalapan. Absolutely awesome place to run, wide open and huge. Can back your car right up to the water and drop em in!

                          This would probably work nicely.
