I am not counting on the factory setup to be reliable. I already have a replacement inrunner motor/esc for the p-1 when I receive it. I just cant see how an outrunner, which relies on air to cool it can stay cool in a hull that is sealed.

Generally, outrunners can handle much higher temps and run efficiently still than can inrunners. I still prefer the inrunners as well.

Venom Media. What a joke. Come on here to push your product, then disappear. Great info! Thier testing probably involved finding the motor on a HK site, and saying...hey that looks cool! Lets buy em' up!

What motor/esc did you order? On 4s after 10 min, mine is temping out at 120-130.
What would happen if I ran 6s on the stock setup? They say speed control is able to handle that?? But not the motor. A few people have said try it, just run for a min or two and temp it. I'm sure they're all saying it cause it's not their money.

            Thanks.

True, they just want to see what happens. The truth is 2000kv X 6s = 44,400rpm. That is waay too much rpm for any boat. The outrunner will heat up immediately trying to spin the prop that fast, and the speed control will heat up trying to produce the huuge amp draw that the motor will be asking of it. 4s max on the stock setup!

I had the ammo 36-88-1280 and a turnigy120 that I was gonna put in the p-1 on 6s, but decided the stock motor is pretty good, and I dont think the p-1 would fit the larger props I was planning to use for my 6s setup. So I'm gonna stay stock for now. Got 43mph so far on my x442 prop. Want to try an x640 next.

                  Awesome! Thanks or the info.
                  On the X640, I'm getting 40-41.5 mph
                  time to go shopping.
