Hey guys, I would like a little input of the setup I am thinking about. I just bought an EKOS with the 2700kv motors and was thinking of upgrading to 2x Leopard 4074 2200kv's, Seaking 180 ESC's & 4s Batts. Any input would be much appreciated. I've been on the site for a year now and have learned a lot just by reading the posts and seeing how much you help each other. Thanks in advance)

4074's are 40mm cans, they will not fit the stock mounts in the ekos hull. Try a 380 or 28mm motor, leopard sells the 2860's that should work. Go with a 3400kv motor on 3s packs swinging 42mm prop's. Should move on pretty good then. 120amp should be fineLMT

4074's are overkill on that hull and will be really hard to work on in the small sponsons of the ekos. Stick with the 28mm leopards and 120amp seakings. I ran a similar setup with 28mm 2400kv feigao motors and 120a seakings on 4s, with carbon 442 props and got consistent high 50's to low 60's. If you have the second generation ekos with the out runner motors, you'll have to swap out the mounts.Comment

I almost considered buying the new version of this boat rtr, but 579.99 is a whole lot of cash for what your getting imo. 380 size motors seem harder to work with, when shooting for 60-70mph, I have seen this hull do it though!LMT

Hows it goin? I was able to fit a pair of ARC 36x65mm motors into my EKOS it was a tight fit thought. You can see them in this thread

Thanks for the kind words guys! As forescott said t-120's, 28mm motors are direct bolt in motors for the clamp style motor mounts. I had done this upgrade with a pair of leopard 2860 motors and t-120's, before I overhauled the boat. And it's a proven setup in this hull, definitely night and day from the stock setup.
If you choose to run it stock for now, DO NOT RUN 4s!HPR 115 - Lenher 2240/7, AS26- 150BL EVO ll esc's 92.3mph
