    C1 props

    Hi,

I recently replaced the stock motors with the Feigao 380xl 9s, Jeff Wohlts wire drives and couplers. Using stock Venom ESCs, 4S, 25C 3600mAh or larger LiPo's, which pre-balanced, pre-sharpened props would you recommend for top end speed? I have seen some references to CF-40's, but am not sure if that means Carbon Fibre, 40mm. The only CF-40's I see are two blade. How would those compare to the Venom 3-point, 36mm machined props?

    Thanks,

    Pete

First, top end speed will kill your hull.People have ran the Carbon Filled 40mm props and getting mid to high fifties with the same motors you have.I would also upgrade the esc's to 120 amp to be safe. When running larger props like your wanting to,it going to pull more amps. For the ultimate speed fix,get a set of Octura X442's left and right hand and make adapters for the props using 3/16 brass tubing so you can run them on your 4mm stub shafts.Or you can buy the adapters in the OSE store. You will certainly get your speed fix with the 442's.I had mine to 66mph.

I run all the same stuff you have with the exception of turnigy 120's for speed controls. I like the cf-40's. The Octura x-442's gave the ekos too much lift in my opinion and made it want to blow over too easy. The cf-40's are inexpensive, don't need to be sharpened and will get your ekos into the 60mph range. But I doubt the 60-amp esc's you have will last long with the xl-sized motors. Stick with the stock or aluminum 32mm props until you can get some new esc's. Good luck!!!
