What's the best choice for replacing my ekos motors
380 xls' or 540? Do 540's fit the standard mounts?

To keep it simple go xl and to keep stock mounts. 540 is gona require rigging up a set up. The way I look at it 380s these days are just as good as 540s but in a smaller package. Plus u can use the motor mount water cooling feature as a plus. I feel this would help in cooling.

One point of failure we just found today.
The 380xl is long and heavy with the water jacket and the water in it. It is only held in by the front screws and that is it.
The front end bell is simply crimped so it brake off in rougher water
Add some wooden blocks with some heat glue to support the back of the motors so on rougher water when the boat bounces the motor does not just come off.
