Running the EKOS in series

Has anyone ever tried running the 2 motors in series instead of parallel? I often wondered about that but do not have an electrician's background. Perhaps it could really go with only 2x2S and 2x3S if that were the case would be nuts depending on the motors. It would translate to 4S power and 6S power respectively I assume. I suppose it would also require one big fat ESC too...240 Amp and up!?
