I took it for a run today. I put 2 sets of batteries through it & now i am having issues with the esc's again. the port esc is making different noises to the starbord 1. They both work if i bypass the "Y" harness. I can not acces the programing using the programming card. I have to use the beep method to change parameters. The "Y'" harness is only a couple of days old with 3 packs ran through it.

I am happy with how the boat runs other wise. I have got the timing set to 15 degrees & the esc's & batteries are all cold. I am going to try 18.5 degrees next time & see how that goes.

What noises are you speaking of? remember the starboard esc will beep one time every second until the port side is connected. The port side should be connected second. I always program the esc's one at a time because sometimes the motors beep slightly out of sync when you try to program them at the same time and it becomes confusing.

The tone of the beeps is different. The port esc is a deeper tone than the starboard. I also program them individually using a venom programming card which is easier than using the beep method.

I have spoken with the lhs about it & i have to take the boat back to them so that they can send it back to Venom again.

I ordered a pair of alloy props today. 36mm. Venom did not have the anodized props so i had to go with the cheaper 1's. I also sorted out the "Y" harness issue. There must have been some moisture in the harness because today it worked fine.

just check the balance on the props. you may have to balance them. and you will want to sharpen them as well. and im not sure of the cast of those props they may need to be cleaned up and smoothed out. some 800 grit then 1000 grit and some metal polish works nice to finish & polish

Im a bit inquisative about the 15 deg of timing people seem to be running. My esc's manual says that 15 deg of timing is for outrunners with more poles. so what is the advantage of running a 2 pole motor at this setting?

                          Thanks JPriami,

I thought i would have to clean & balance them. They should be here late this week or early next week.

15 degrees is what Venom set the timing too out of the box. I was thinking seen as i am not getting any heat that i will go up 1 setting at a time until i get a little bit of heat in the esc's, motors & batts.

This is my first FE boat so i am on a steep learning curve at the moment.

I had a try at nitro boats. I have mainly been into nitro, gas & electric cars.

The props i will have to balance & sharpen before use. I will post pics once i get them.

I took it for a run today trying to get a video. Well i broke a blade off the starboard prop & almost flipped the boat on a turn. I replaced both props & took it for a second go but that did not last long either because i lost the prop & flex shaft out of the port engine into about 4 meters of water.

I was not a happy at all. It seams everytime i take this boat out something goes wrong with it.
