    Esc help?

Hi, I just resurrected a traxxas spartan that I have with a blown stock esc. I guess it didn't like 3 cell 5000mah lipo batteries all that much.

I installed a OSE motor and Esc package that includes a Leopard 4082 Motor 1600kv, Seaking 180 Version 3 Esc, and a Leopard 4068 Water Jacket.

Since I'm a rookie at all things electrical and I have read the papers that came with it and am still stumped I thought I would ask here.

When I power it up and turn on the remote control, the Esc just beeps slowly and continually. I'm pretty sure my batteries are in fine shape and they for sure are charged. I tried a procedure to set the throttle but nothing is working other than the beeping.

    Any ideas that may help?

    Thanks!

Thanks for the replies but someone much smarter than me at the local hobby shop got my receiver and esc talking and we are fixed up.

Seems like the Spartan is so 5 years ago that this forum is dead...

That appears to be the way. I too have a Spartan with the same Leopard 4082 motor and T180 ESC. I still love that boat, upgraded the cooling lines, flex shaft, trim tabs, etc. Runs beautifully now. Glad to hear you figured out the ESC problem.

But yes, it's technically outdated and this forum has been some what of a ghost town ever since the Proboat Voracity came out.

        Thanks for the reply Pheyd.

I've got another problem with this money pit of a boat. It runs great now except my 3s 35C 5000mah batteries run great for about a minute, very fast but then it hits low voltage and then runs at a lower max speed because of the esc.

        I need to get 45C batteries $$$...

I'd recommend at least 60C batteries. Personally, I use the 70C Revoelectrix batteries and have had no issues.
