New guy needs help

I have a Spartan. Motor let go, so I got a OSE upgraded motor and Seaking 180. Hooked everything up to test on the bench.
I don't know what I'm doing, but now the steering knob controls the motor, and the throttle trigger does nothing. I don't have a program card, no idea what that is! Ya, I'm a dummy!
Any advice, lectures to give me a hand? Thanks!

Sounds like you have the connectors wrong in the receiver. ESC goes to channel 2, steering channel 1.

you've plugged the ESC into channel 1 put it in channel 2 on the rx. and plug the servo into channel 1.

Also, make sure you read the instructions on calibrating the esc.
