How did you fix your leaky spartan?

Post how you did it and pics. I have 2 and they both leak like crazy.

    Any input is appreciated.

There are a few common reasons for taking on water with the spartan.

    1. Stock cooling jacket on motor leaks. Remedy, upgrade to aluminum cooling jacket.
    2. Deck separating from hull. Check the seam all around the boat by gently pressing on the hull to see if it pulls away. If it does use a glue suitable for ABS to repair.
    3. Leaking around hatch. The hatch leaks, especially at the back where the tabs are, made worse by using reverse. The simple fix on most R/C boats is to tape the hatch. The Spartan hatch is difficult to seal with tape, especially around the tabs at the rear. I modified my hatch to allow for easier sealing with tape.
    4. leaking at cooling line connections. Remedy, secure cooling lines with small zip ties at connections.

Motor with aluminum cooling jacket installed

Rear Hatch with tabs filled with fiberglass epoxy and tabs cut and sanded flat.

    Hatch mod completed

    Hull/Deck separation

Look closely you will see zip ties on cooling line connections.

Ive done all those mods except the hatch filling mod. My water comes up the stuffing tube even just sitting still. I have a wire drive.

That's my worry about using my wire drive.... maybe you don't have the brass tubing far enough from the motor--Maybe even too close? I will get pics to you eventually, still working on the new phone.
Why are you bothering me? I want to see your boat!
