    Loud boat?

    Hey everybody... another question LOL

So i bought my spartan used from someone on craigslist. Drove it a few times. My dad saw and loved it and bought his first hobby grade brushless rc. A brand spankin new red spartan. Now that I have them next to each other out of the water I realized how loud mine is.

When he hits the throttle its almost silent.
When I hit the throttle its LOUD. Why??? I feel like something is wrong now....although it drives fine.

    What do you guys think?
I want a quiet spartan not a loud one hahah

Did you say "out of the water" or "out on the water"?

The quiet boat probably has a balanced prop and a well greased flex shaft.

Check the alignment of the motor-- one could be pushing the flex and rubbing the stuffing tube near the collet.

Any small imperfection like said above can and will intensify on the bench. It's ok to blip the throttle on the bench but any full throttle for any amount of time is not good on the components. The drivetrain on boats are unique in its a flexible shaft with no precise housing to control the shaft. Any small vibration can reverberate through the rigid hull and sound awful. Some are just louder than others probably due to tolerances and balance of all components, prop, drive dog, nut, shaft, collet, motor alignment,,ect,,, So like chief said if everything is lined up and not rubbing on some obvious then it's just a loud boat. But I would take a closer look at everything like said above.

The motor is noisy out of the boat. I took it apart and its rusty inside. Looks like there may be damage. Ill get the pics up asap

sounds like it is a used boat with little to no maintaince done on it
