    Spartan's Torque roll

Winters over at last so back to sorting out the torque roll problems ive got with my spartan ive read the other posts about chin walk and ive not got that, the issue ive got is anything above 3/4 throttle the hull starts to barrel roll from Port to Starboard. Anyone found a fix other then moving the flex and strut up and to the right ?

My Spartan is stock running on 6's 5000mah 60-90C apart from extra trim tabs and Full telemetry system RPM,temp, volts, speed not working due to no Traxxas GPS

You got other issues, torque roll should be the opposite: from Port to Starboard. That is how self righting hulls work. they put all the weight on the port side, once the boat is under full power and with torque, it will ride level.
Did you check your trim tabs?
Too many boats, not enough time...

From the photo it looks like your rudder is not straight. (perpendicular to the ground). It might the camera angle though. tlandauer is correct. Torque roll would be opposite of what you describe.

I have exactly the same issue since installing some upgrades. Doing some bigger trim tabs and longer/larger rudder. It definitely is torque roll with mine. Hit the trigger and the boat threatens to roll over. Not speed related. Will do this going slowly and hitting the trigger, or slowly working up to speed. No tests with the mods yet though.

Very interested if someone has solved the issue.

Would a mis-aligned rudder as described cause this?

Ive fixed the pic now , photohoward1 the rudder is straight its the pic.

" Hit the trigger and the boat threatens to roll over. Not speed related. Will do this going slowly and hitting the trigger, or slowly working up to speed. No tests with the mods yet though. "

if you slowly work up to speed it does it as well, it turns into a barrel rolling missile about a foot above the water, ive also got got x2 8400mah 11.1v 40-80c packs big and heavy at 657g each, ive tried both packs on Port side and it still lifts and rolls

You simply put some positive angle on the strut and it fixed the torque roll?

I have one that did this and putting a few deg of positive strut helped. You may also try morning the batteries around and possibly even stagger them.

Thanks stadiumyamaha, I'll give that a go. I tried wieghting my boat to offset the roll, which works up to a point, but really it made the whole boat quite unstable. By staggering the batteries, you mean don't place them directly opposite each other in the hull?

I fixed my torque roll, went to work on the rear tabs, strut, sturt mount & rudder with a set square and spirit level leveled everything out and bingo no more torque roll. Back to work on my other boats now :D

The addition of the two extra trim tabs and then adjusting them over a few runs seems to have fixed the torque roll for me. I also put on a much longer rudder, but i'm still getting bad chine walk even with that fitted. Another guy in my club has a stock Spartan running 6s and whips my butt completely stable. Don't get it.

                        Hi Guys,

I get the same torque roll.
Once I flat sticked the throttle and it barrel rolled like a fighter jet and landed right way up.
The second time I increased the throttle slowly and what the boat slowly lean over to the right.
I haven't rectified it, but I did notice improvement from making adjustments from this website

I think part of why I haven't rectified it was just as I was getting it right, I went to 8s lipo. Now I have other problems.
