Boat runs like crap, need help.

So my buddy has a stock spartan, it use to kill on 6s no it only runs at about half throttle on 6s and cuts off..... He is using 2 traxxas 3s packs.... The packs have ballooned out a bit from use with this boat but they still hold perfect voltage..... I'm stumped bc I checked his esc settings and its in race mode ( forward only ) and its in lipo mode. Any help with this matter would be greatly valued.

I have 1 that dose the same thing ...... , the ESC is Kapoot , it was over-heat one tooo many times . Mine still arms and all . i put it in the water she goes , when i pull the trigger it feels like lipo cut off has kicked in . GARBAGE !

Hey,
I would try some other cell in the boat and see what happens first.
The ones that he was using try them in a different boat to,
And see if it fall on it face at full load.
May be just one of the cells is on it way out in them under load.
A load test is the key with bad cells some times,
The numbers look good till their is a load on them.
Heat and cold can make it show it self to you to.

+1 Lenny. Probably a bad cell on one of the batts.

Also sounds like he needs to prop it down or run shorter times or he is going to have more trouble than a messed up ESC

Or this could be your boat on bad cells,

I would just try some 30/40 c Turnigy packs,
They probably would be better than the traxxas packs and a lot cheaper to.

Ok so i thought the same as mentioned above , after many times try'n .........i put my buddies same esc in with the same batt's and she took off like no tomorrow ....so needless too say process of elimination wins. esc is NFG . :)

Till traxxas to give you a new POS for free,
And then sell it on ebay.
Than get a seaking 120a or 180a and be happy again.

First and sime answer try 42 55 prop. I run my spartan 6s, 2 3s 6000 mah 100C max amps batteries. My spartan is tricked out and cuts off at full throttle with 44 68 prop. If smaller prop doesn't work esc may be messed up. Get some good lipos and charge and manage tem well
