OSE RTI Motor & ESC Package for the Spartan.

I've been planning on re-rigging my Spartan, i like the hull just not impressed with the Traxxas electronics. So i happened to see OSE offers a ready to drop in package for the Spartan, great idea so i'm considering it. The Package comes with Leopard 1600 KV motor and T180 ESC, but i had been thinking about going with the 1800 KV Leopard like i have in my Daytona/Genesis cat. I run the Spartan on 4S, and it runs great with the 1800 Caslte motor, perfect for what i want, how much slower would it be if i went with the 1600 KV on 4S?? Would there be much of a difference?? Thanks

It would definitely be a bit slower on 1600kv, but you might be able to prop up a bit to compensate.

You could run an 1800kv on 4S without problem (as you already are), and the T180 would handle 1800kv on 6S if you don't get carried away on prop size.

I've been running one Spartan on T180, Leopard 1600, Prather 220, and 6S reliably for two seasons.

Running the other Spartan on T180, Castle CC1515 (2100kv), Octura 442 and 5S reliably for one full season and part of the season before.

I did torch a T180 quickly trying to run a leopard 4074 2000kv on 6S and 220 prop.

I know this isn't a direct answer to your question, but hopefully my experience can assist you making a decision on how you want to proceed.

plus the leopard motor will be much more efficient and run better than the stock traxxas motor
