Spartan will allow full throttle for 10 seconds

Spartan will allow full throttle for 10 seconds then cut to "slow mode." I'm running two thunder power lipos 3s and try worked great first two times. Top flew off and boat became submerged :/ . I'm guessing its the brand new lipos that got wet. Charging original traxxas batteries too to see if same results occur. Any help would e greatly appreciated.

Was the water fresh or salty? It is doubtful the issue is the packs (but possible), much more likely it's the ESC going into LVC, etc.

I've seen this before with low C rating on the batts. If you're using a metal prop, and have added pitch or diameter, you need to run 40 or more on the C rating with a larger Mah to produce enough amps. It may be hitting the LVC due to the fact that the system is demanding too many amps compared to what the batteries can deliver.

Any time you sink the boat, you MUST make sure things are dry prior to running again. Open the receiver box and let it air out, take apart the motor and clean it out/ dry it out. Also, depending on the batteries you use, make sure they dry out, too. Patience!

        Thanks!

Great advice! All I did was follow the simple steps in the manual> (have boat batteries connected, turn on transmitter with menu & set button pressed at the same time, push menu, then set, then the esc/speed control is reset. Thanks for your help. I'm learning the patience thing(which is why I bought a Spartan to start), but am already itching for something faster :)

P.S. to any Spartan owners, buy the foam for the top hatch, and TAPE THEM ON! Or at least buy some more connectors because a fast crash = *aka jet ski needed asap*

Try setting low voltage cutoff to 3.1 or 3.2. If that doesn't work try smaller prop or 42. 55 grim

Also, my buddy put 10 gauge wires from esc to motor and it eliminated it

You can't change the LVC on the stock speed contro it is not adjustable. The batteries are not supplying enough power. Too low a C rating or prop too big. Try a smaller prop, the stock plastic one just to see if it is the prop you are using. If you still have the problem with the stock plastic prop then the batteries are not providing enough power for some reason. Not properly charged. Not fully charged. Damaged! C Rating too low. Just to name a few possible problems.
