I watched that one before as well but 2 things bothered me 1 he did not show his boat running and with that long of a stinger on it i would guess he is running very wet.

Moving the strut up a few mm to help stabilize the Spartan was first done by Jpriami back when the Spartan was first released.

The few who have tried it do claim it has eliminated chine walk, but there seems to be a limited number of Spartan owners that feel comfortable doing this mod.

I have found running a positive angle on the strut of about 1-2mm helps, but does not eliminate, chine walk.

Shifting gears back a few posts do you think i would save myself some time at the lake by ordering a Seawing 180 now? also i am going to post this question on the thread where they show how to waterproof thee T-180 but how does that work with having them repaired? and where are you sending them?
again thanks for all the insight and help.

Okay Dag-Nabit I finished reading your second season a great read thank you. I think I am ready for her maiden voyage. I still have the Seaking 180 on its way but I am hoping that the stock ESC will hold up for a charge or 2. I have the second set of trim tabs installed (all set to 0) I have drilled out the rudder from top and bottom and then resealed the bottom, drilled out the pickup hole and beveled it, drilled out the water outlet, separated the cooling system so the ESC is on the old system and then added a pickup tube and 4mm lines and outlet with a metal cooling jacket for the motor. I have not had time to sharpen and balance the Prather 215 so I will try it out with the stock prop. I am using 2 HK 3S 5000 45C. Did I miss anything?

IMG_2118.jpgWell I got the boat wet for the first time yesterday. She did well, I only had 1 set of batteries so I made short runs pulling her in to check the temps and make adjustments. She ran best with the batteries almost all the way back strut +1 inner trim tabs -1. With that being said she ran 36.4 MPH I felt pretty good about that but I did see the ESC hit 117. I started working the Prather S215 last night once that is done should I expect a bit more speed? O and yes it was walking all over the place on 80-90% of WOT passes.

okay i put the Prather 215 on there and was able to hit 40.6 but still walking all over the place. I sent Steve a PM and he said the 4092 1430 was also a good choice. i will give it a try.

okay i got the motor and ESC in. still need to put a bigger cooling line on the pickup for the ESC and find a spot for the caps. where is the best place to put the temperature sensor on the ESC?

The caps will tend to run the hottest. Otherwise anywhere on the top of the ESC.

I can tell you from hours upon hours of testing. 90 percent of chine walk is due to prop. Try smaller prop first. I find 42 55 grim racer is perfect balance of speed and control. I run 6s 2 max amps 3s 6000mah 100c 2 inches from back of the trays. Trim tabs are really more of a ballast equalizer. I have 4
