How can i improve on this

Finaly finished my build in my Spartan and it's going very well. Longing to know what speed i am doing i put in a Garmin today and clocked 48.5mph a bit disapointing i thought. My set up is Leopard 4082 1600kv aeromarine coupler .187mm flexi in a 9/32mm tube stepped down to 1/4" with a prather prop and a seaking 180amp esc using 2 x 3s gens ace 5000mah 50c batteries. Iam happy with this setup but would love a bit more speed so how can i improve on this any tips all will be welcome.

Not sure what size it is at the moment it was recomended for the stock spartan, i will have to search through my papers to find the actual size.215 seems to come to mind.

Try a 220 prop some on here have that same setup and saw higher speeds...but watch all temps carefully... Also did you trim out the boat? Tht will make a huge difference....it takes quite a while but Thts Wt gets you higher speeds as well....

          Rcforever is right on.

I run the same setup you are in my daughters Spartan with a Prather 220 and it has been working very well. You could also try an Octura X642. These props are slightly larger diameter and have more pitch than the 215. Your 4082 motor has plenty of torque to spin them effectively.

Be aware though that larger props do create more torque roll.

Then experiment with your setup to find the best balance between speed and stability.

Kevin got a 220 and put it on did no adjustments and went to the lake today with a gps and got 54.8 mph so i supose i got to play about with the trim tabs and the rudder next to get more speed. You may have other ideas for me.

Let's call that 55 mph, that is pretty respectable speed on your setup. I would say you are close to what you can expect for top speed, but some very fine tuning may squeeze a wee bit more out f it.

If you are getting reasonably stable running at 54-55 mph, I personally would be quite pleased with those results.
