I'm running a Spartan with a stock motor and ESC and 5000 35C batteries. I am getting about seven minutes of run time if I don't push it too hard. Is that all I can expect for run times off these batteries or is the overheating sensor shutting it down? The boat doesn't quit running but slows down. When I got home I voltage tested the batts. One was 10.7 and the other 11.1. Am I missing something here? Thanks.
New Traxxas Spartan, question about run times.

10.7v is completely depleted, in fact in my opinion its over-depleted, i like mine to read the nominal voltage of 3.7v per cell(11.1v on 3s) when the boat is brought in. 7 minutes is a LONG time as Jim pointed out....................so, no, you're not "missing" anything.NEED PARALLEL CONNECTORS?? When you charge your batteries you shouldn't put more than 80% of the total capacity back into the battery, so your 5000mah packs should take a maximum of 4000mah to be fully charged. More than this and you are running your batteries down to far and will hurt the lifespan of the pack.
I get about 3:30-4:00 runtime out of similar setups, batteries at rest then read about 3.7v per cell and take about 4000mah to reach capacity.
I don't use the LVC in the esc, I time my runs based on charging data.If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?Comment
