    Help, Motor/ECU cuts out......

    Hey Ya'll
I have the never verison Spartan, runs fine on 2 cell Lipos, but if I put the 3 cells in, the motor and ECU cut out just before full throttle.9Still got 49.9 mph before it cuts out0 The only thing thats difffernt is a M445....Boat runs fine with this prop on the 2 cells. Any ideas??

Just ran the stock prop, 50.9mph....so why does the m445 make the motor, ecu cut out on 3 cells.?

That 45mm prop is too large for the stock electrics and is causing an overload.

442 or Prather 215 are most often recommended to use with stock electrics on 6S

Hey Kevin, think I know what's wrong. One of the 3 cells has a bad cell, once it hits wide open throttle with the load of the big prop shuts down. It runs fine with the stock prop. The boat hauls butt on the 2s(48.9 mph) so I cant see what she 'll do with a good batch of 3s

If you are running stock electrics keep an eye on your temps if you are successful getting longer runs with a fresh set of batteries.

The stock electrics have a history of ESC failure if you push larger props on 6S.

I run the Turnigy 180 ESC's in my Spartan's and my Cat, Turnigy 120's in my SV27's.

I'm not sure what temp would be considered a "safe" maximum, but if the components are getting uncomfortably hot to the touch I would consider that a warning sign.

If there is smoke pouring out of the boat, it is too hot.

My ESC, Motor, and Batteries are generally between 30 - 35 C after a good run. (90 - 100 F) and are just comfortably warm to the touch.
