and they were also warned about the original motor and esc... yepper and again they had to goto someone with brains cuz they had no idea what they were doing by going cheap on the electronics
Yup I remember that. They're 0-2, maybe finally they'll realize that they're not dealing with idiots. Not sure what they're obsession is with the Titan name. Another reason it was stupid to pick Titan was everytime you googled "Traxxas Titan" it brought up their brushed motors, that was another bone-head move they didn't think out. I remember the HUGE thread about that boat prior to release about the concern for using a 2-pole 1600 540XL motor on a boat that large and at high rpms, all of the senior boaters where shaking their head because they knew what the outcome would be. One look of the spec sheet and numerous red flags where thrown, but they continued and the end result is what is considered the laughing stalk of boating, but somehow it won "boat of the year" before it was even release so not sure how much they paid to get that title.

Let's see what failure to listen to seasoned boaters resulted in.
    * out of $ for the name lawsuit
    * out of $ re-marketing and changing all the boxes and logos
    * out of $ due to replacing countless motors and escs
    * out of $ for temperarly suspending the boat and coming out with a V2 which continues to fail
    * lost numerous follower/fans due to the way they're handling customers and deleting countless threads on they're forum
    * damaged reputation and now considered a complete joke in the boating side of RC

In all honesty the should probably discontinue the boat. For everyone they sell, its more issue then profit. The PB Impulse 31 and the new AQ Revolt and gonna further destroy sells of this boat, fiberglass hull build by racers for less money and proven electronics they may as well throw in the towel on this turd and save some users the headache.

      Don't need 6s to hit 50mph

And my boat didn't catch on fire at the end

but if you want 60mph you need 6s. wire drives are the fix to all the probs. dont burst ,throttle management, if the boat dont drive right dont drive it fix it.

Naaaa she might get it 5s lol.... 6s in that Pursuit and we'll be roasting marshmellow on her lol.

Wire drives would be a good fix. I just remembered something else I should add to the Traxxas fix it list... No reverse with a flexcable :banghead:

Yup if something not right I don't try it... I learned that the hardway with planes. That's when you leave the field with more pieces then you came with....

I'm going to be the devils advocate here. I have many boats all running a similar 4s setup and achieving 50s easy. That being said, I also have a Spartan that is stock except for a m445 prop and Ive got to tell you its one of the funnest boats I've owned.
notice I didn't say fastest. On 4s the Spartan will run mid 40s with a good setup. The reason its so fun is that its a basher. A friend also has a stock one and when we race them we will do stuff that you would never do with your nice gear. Bump in the corners and cut each other off to have the roost blow the other guy over. Truly some of the funnest boating I've done.
traxxas just marketed the thing wrong and claimed too much. Look at how popular the mg is, and stock the thing is pretty slow and the hull won't handle much abuse without cracking. Everybody loved it and it has similar gear in it. The difference is the 50mph claim. Jmo

I can def agree with your point of view. Marketing shot them in the foot. If they would have said the best basher in the boating world that would have been a different story. The 50 claim killed them. Should have just said 4s. The price is also much higher then I expected for what it is.

I agree, it's to expensive for what you get.

yeah i think the biggest problem is they are making their consumers pay for their screw ups. i dont even want to get started on my nightmares with it, i posted a week ago on rcu some guy wanting help with prop on his . i told him to go with a 3/16 setup as he would be prop limited on 4mm. i was truthful in saying when the esc burned up that i wish the hull would have burned too so it went to davey jones locker and i woulda been done with the nightmare !
