    Spartan Turning radius??

So I ran my "new, used " Spartan for the first time, I bought it for the main purpose of being a retrieval boat. But mine does not turn worth a crap, when going slow. Are they all like this? When I'm on the gas the move handles just fine. As this boat did not come with a box or TX instructions, is there a way to set the TX for more steering input, like on my Tactic radio??

If thats just way it is at slow speed then, you might see it on the for sale section. CRAP!!!

    thanks for any info

I've had two of them and yes, at slow speed they do not turn well. I haven't ever tried to change it because it doesn't take much speed to get them turning but that still doesn't help in your application.
I use a old Traxxas villain that works great and turns on a dime.

do you think changing the servo might work? or is it just the hull?

No FE boats turn well unless they are moving fast.....the only reason the Villan turns well is that it has outdives so the props turn as well when steering.

That's why I picked the villain.
I don't think you'll ever get the spartan to work the way you want. IMO

You could try moving the rudder linkage to the inside hole on the rudder horn. It should help, but not sure it will be enough for what you want.

Pick up a used old villain. They turn sharp at low speed and have good thrust. I just built a PVC rig for it and it works great. It also has room for two nimh batts that you can run parallel for long run times.

thanks for the advise, I will keep an eye for one. Post up a pic of the home made rig you made (if you can), maybe thats the route I should take.
