    Hi, New Need some advice/Help.

I sent my motor and ESC out Jan 5th. got it back Feb 23. It was cogging

Wow i cant believe its been this long. finally got my stuff back from castle. took it out today and it was weird kept going to one side and i didnt see water spitting out the side constantly. i know i need to adjust my tabs cause i could here the the prop like splashing the water...

    Where to mount the batteries??

So i did some adjustments to my tabs and gave the rudder a more 90 degree angle and went back to the water...man this is my first boat and its just so amazing how life like these things r...Anyways the only thing im experiencing now is the batteries..and the water jets...the dont consistently shoot out water and it feels like after 5 min. or so that the esc goes into low voltage settings where it limits the speed. but the light on the esc does not flash.. Also everything inside is hot.. What to do..

Well took the boat out again today and the batteries did the same ting to me again. Or the ESC but i still didnt have the red light flashing..I opened the lid n some smoke came out. So i disconnected the batts and took her home. When i got home i went ahead and greased the shaft again after 2 days and today and i noticed that the shaft was loose where it clamps into that piece on the motor. I also noticed that i didnt have reveres anymore.. How strange???

Battery placement is subject to experimentation. Different batteries are different weight etc., so you have to experiment moving them forward or backward in small increments until you find the spot where the boat planes the best. Sometimes having one battery (left if looking from rear of boat) forward a bit more than the other can help counter prop torque roll.

Your photos won't enlarge so can't see much, but your comments about the cooling water stream being inconsistent and smoke in the hull cavity are a concern. It sounds that it may be possible you cooked the electronics by not having proper cooling water circulation.

Some better photos and some details on the prop, batteries, cooling system mods, other mods, etc. you are running would help us with possible diagnosis of your problem(s)

Hey Kevin thanks for responding.. i have the stock prop and 2 gens ace 5500mah 25C lipos. The rudder is free from debrisi blow it out everytime after each run n it blows out whatever was in the lines. It is a dual p/u on set of lines goes to tthe ESC and the other set goes to the motor. I have the big silver jacket on the motor.

Wow i cant believe thos no one responds here.... oh well maybe some one can help me with my next problem...i have figured out my smoking issue. It is that stupid designed collet i believe its called that holds the cable onto the motor. Isnt it that if u loosen and tighten something over n over again it will were out... how does this supposed to work with something that clamps to the cable and transfers all that energy out the tail..... Is there a replacement part that is better or stronger plz help.. Also i am looking for some contact info on Mr.Wohlts racing..thanks

            Find Jeff here: http://www.rcraceboat.com/

Yes you can purchase upgraded collets. Jeff has them, so does OSE and Kintec Racing.

If you run the stock cable you will need a 5mm x .150 size collet.

If you change to a larger cable, or go with a wire drive, you will need the appropriate collet for the drive size.

Did you say it's a dual pick up rudder? I added a transom mounted rudder along with the original rudder. They work great together. I would make sure that it is not the cooling can causing a bit of restriction. How hard is it to blow out the lines? A simple test; take a piece of tubing and blow thru it. There should not be much more resistance when blowing thru it when it connected to the can and the ESC. If it is, you'll have to remove the cooling can a re-position the o rings. You may have an o ring that is partially blocking en entrance or exit port on the can. Also, check the ESC. Make sure there is no blockage on the input or output ports. Hope it gives you a direction to look in. Sounds like everything is overheating. If it continues, you should switch to a transom mount pick up.

thanks for the reply. I am more than likely going to order the black ones from here and also the little aluminum ones that go under the boat. To me it makes more sense to p/u water from the underside of the boat than the rudder...Everything is overheating and i think its because the mototr was spinning faster than it was actually going bcuz of that pos collet crap was spinning on the flex shaft most of the time...
