Hull Painting?

I had an unfortunate crash with the Spartan into some rocks and have since bought an updated hull. My new plan is to paint the original hull (I had to glue the nose back together) to cover up any signs fom the crash and turn it into a 2nd boat. My question is do I need to buy special paint like they use for lexan bodies or will Krylon paint from the hardware store work just as well on the ABS hull?

I think Krylon has a paint made just for plastic. I believe it called "Fusion". Ive never used it, only seen it in the store.

I painted my spartan with Rustoleum plastic paint that I bought at home depot... it worked out great... you might want to dust the hull with a little bit of primer before you coat it... Also give it a light sand with 400 grit sand paper...

Do you have any pics of your painted Spartan? I'm getting bored with all the wind/cold so I need something to do. I've been thinking about painting mine as well. Do you think that model paint would work? There's a huge variety of colors and they seem to flow very well.

I bought some gloss black and clearcoat fusion paint for my Mercury Marine paint scheme, I'll post pics when it's done.
