Spartan is a Big Boat, Comparison

Well I have a few hulls I want to experiment with and only now did I realize how big the Spartan actually is.

A little disappointed in the Princess as I though this was a bigger boat as it is advertised as a 1000mm (39 1/2) x 300mm (11 3/4")boat when in fact it is only 850mm (33 1/2") x 210mm (8 1/4") . In all fairness, they do count the overhung swim platform but as we all know this does not touch the water and should not be calculated in hull length. Even adding this only brings it to 950 or 37" so I assume they also mesure the running gear to get the overall advertised length. Good news is it will be faster than expected and should cut the water quite well due to it's narrower beam. May have to rethink motor as the 4082 1600KV will have this hull doing 60 no problem. Bet you the radar will rip loose at those speeds.

The Pursuit is better as it is advertised at 820mm (32") and is but the actual hull width is 8 3/4" but advertised at 9 1/2. The pursuit hull tapers outwards toward the top so it does actually measure 9 1/2" wide but for running purposes, 8 3/4 is all that will ever see the water unless you run it upside down.

The Spartan is advertised at 36" but in reality it is 36 1/2" of hull, no running gear. The width is advertised at 9 1/2" but like the Pursuit it only measures 9" at water contact area.

Pursuit to the left then Princess and then Spartan

Not stupid at all but that is probably because you have not seen the top of the Princess. Definitely not a race boat

I have always wanted this boat, but I am not really a builder, do you think HK's RTR is woth a considration? I can do up grades on motor and electronics. How is the build quality of the hull?
Too many boats, not enough time...

Their RTR a little spendy for what they include and does require some upgrades. The hull is really nice quality. If you can build, you can save yourself some $ by going with the hull only.
