A fellow boater's Spartan that he did not tape. Rescueing this took almost an hour. We put my baseball retrieval with line on his tugboat and tried to wrap it. The line just slid off the hull. Finally go it though.

Looks a nice place to run! My Cyber Storm is a pain to tape but I always do. How was the gear inside?

I recently did the same with my Spartan, it was up right in the water for about 15 to 20 minutes. The servo was un bothered, but the receiver box let a little bit of water in and knocked out the receiver temporarally. Putting it in a bowel of dry rice over night fixed that.

The motor had a little water in it and I cleaned it out with WD 40 and re oiled the bearings, took it out and ran a couple sets of 6s lipos and it ran great. But when running slowly it locked up due to the front bearing flying apart and scattering ball bearings thru the motor.

Not good. What is good is Traxxas. They replaced the motor free out of warrenty, knowing exactly what happaned and still said the motor should have been fine. The new motor sure runs great!
