Cool. I used weather stripping around the opening and electrical tape on the edge of the hatch. Im sure it will keep the water out.

I've only ran to other boats, but this thing handles great. I didn't feel like retrieving it so I didn't push it to the limits. Here's a quick vid. It would have been longer, but I brought a bad lipo so I didn't have a fresh one to run 6s.

        Overall, I pretty happy :)

I friend of mine is coming back from Kuwait and will be buying a boat. He lives on a lake so we have some good times ahead of us.

A guy on Ebay sells them from about $15 and is great to deal with. His user name is Changemaker119. He also sells a very nice direct replacement dual pickup rudder for the spartan.

Well, I ran my Spartan at full throttle for the full 10mins my two Gens Ace 3s 40c 5000mah lipos would allow and the esc and motor weren't even warm. Air temp was 39F, I've switch to larger cooling lines, redirected the flow of the lines to reach the esc and motor at the same time, opened up the pick up hole on the rudder and installed an aluminum cooling jacket. I'm starting to lose faith in all the overheating hype. I'm going for two Sky 6s 30c 4000mah lipos. Hopefully, that will do the trick.

FLUXN81, I have a new spartan available! Limited edition Snap On model! Just in case if your friend is interested, let me know. I have it posted on several other forums and don't know how long it will last. Shoot me a PM if you think he is and I'll pull it.

I read up on it and found out that it blocks the water when reversing. I don't really reverse so... Does it not block water when you're just running, regularly.

But....if you flip your boat....trust me... the water will come and could fill the boat with water, try to tape it off, some people will silicone them. I don't understand why they would design a Boat with big open holes in it ??

I've flipped it, once and it was in the middle of a lake for about 20 mins. It had about a cup of water in it. I used weather stripping around where the canopy sits and doubled it towards the rear. Seems to work pretty good.

I used a sharpie for the white and lightly sprayed it with plastidip. It's for sale in the FS, btw.
