Hi, could someone tell me what the standard steering travel is for a spartan. So neutral (straigd ahead) is 0 degrees and full left/right is x-degrees. Had my first run today and the boat was steering awful. Many thanks in advance for your replies. Best regard, Martien Meijer (Netherlands)

Hate to ask the obvious, but what was so bad about the steering?
Too little steering? The Traxxas 2.4 radios can get odd sometimes when you play with them. The boat also doesn't turn great a low speed. -
On my Spartan, the compressible rubber boot on the rudder/servo rod was sticking. I held the rudder while compressing the boot against the boat. I then added a drop of WD-40 right where the wire rod enters the boot, then pulled the boot back out. Once this was done, the rod could travel freely in or out even after the stretchability (!) limits of the boot were met. Basically, the rod could continue moving after the boot wouldn't go any further, yet it retained the waterproof seal. I've been doing thin on all of my boats for almost 20 years now, and it always helps. On my Spartan, it made a world of differene in the travel distance. Hope this info helps.Comment
