I had to rotate the intake pipe to be able to connect the water line to it, I don't see any leaking and think it will be fine. The solder burns on the cover sucks, I'm a neat freak and I could have done a better job blindfolded.

I run my spartans on 3s, 4s, 5s and 6s, the 3s is for when my 6 yr old grandson uses the boat , the 4s is for the 10 yr old grandson and the rest is for me I also use Octura 442 for the kids and I use X445 or Prather 220 ss.
The larger props do generate higher temps and run times around 4-6 min with 5000mah. For fun long run times I run 2 5s 5000mah batts in parrallel with top speed at 54-58mph with a good 13 minute run time.

Did you have any chine walking issues? I'm sure my boat is going much slower than that and it's chine walking every now and then as is.

I had "chine walk" issues and torque roll big time in the beginning but after much intense testing with trim tabs and weight (placement of batteries and GPS) virtually none. With the stock ESC and motor I run low 60's and last weekend I tried a Prather 225 stainless steel prop and hit 63.9 before it quit. That prop drew sooooo much current that one of the connectors came unsoldered. Needless to say that prop is more than the stock electronics can take.
I have repaired the connection and run the boat since with no issues..... I should be thankful the connection became unsoldered before any serious damage occured.

And this has been with the Octura X445
