I have been running the stock prop with great results but they are chipping and actually loosing a blade every so often. I am on my third one now. Is this normal for the stock plastic prop? Are the composite Graupner props sold here at OSE more durable or are we talking about the same materials being used? Would this be too much prop for my setup with 1700 tacon and 180 esc? http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...od=grp-2317.45

That is common with composite props. I have no experience with the Graupner props so can't say if they hold up better or not.
The 42mm Graupner is pretty much the same as the stock Spartan prop (42x58). The 45mm Graupner is getting to be pretty large diameter, but the pitch is not overly aggressive so it might run OK on your setup (45x63).
I was running a Prather 220 on mine with the Tacon 1700kv and T180 and it was fine. A bit smaller diameter, but more pitch (43.7x66) than the 45mm Graupner.
If you try one, keep a close eye on your temps for the first few runs, and if possible monitor your amp draw.
