You should never run a brushless motor at wide open throttle without a load on it. In fact it is recommended not to run them at all without a load, but I suspect many folks, myself included, will bump them once in awhile to check rotation, etc.
Unfortunately in the video it is sort of hard to tell if the motor/esc is cutting out, or if you are bumping the throttle.
Regardless, if you are having problems, call the Traxxas Suppoprt number and describe the problem. They will likely replace your components under warranty.
