Hey gang, well I finally have some "extra" money, if there is such a thing. I'm looking to upgrade my Spartan with the 4082/SeaKing/Prather combo, but can't seem to find them anywhere. I can find the ESC on eBay but it looks like it wouldn't be delivered until the end of June....can't find the motor anywhere, unless my Google skills are lacking, lol....can anyone suggest a site or sites that might have the stuff? Thanks.
Have money...can't find parts...

Last night, OSE had a 180 esc in stock. You can check www.kershawdesigns.com for a motor or you can post a WTB here for a Castle 1520 1600kv or a Neu 1515/1.5/Y 1500kv. Im sure something will turn up. Also, look to www.kintecracing.com for a 180 esc. -

The link for the 180 here at oSE works fine for me. Goes to the cart with just the esc http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...er-seaking-180 you may have been clicking on the combo package not sure. What kv in the 4082 or you looking for? The 1450kv is in stock http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...o-4082&cat=148Comment

The cooling jacket with be a 40mm diameter and the motor is 82mm long (less the wire exit) So you can go with a water jacket up to approx. 65mm in length. I'm running a Leopard 4082 1500kv in my Fightercat Genesis hull using the Leopard brand 40mmx50mm water jacket and the motor runs cool (less than 100*F) Check OSE to see what they have for 40mm diameter jackets in the 50-65mm length range.
The Prather S220 is a great prop for this setup. You can turn larger props with this motor as well, but you might have more torque roll issues. The 220 is a safe bet for a first prop. You could also try the Octura X642 which is slightly smaller diameter, but a bit more pitch than the S220, it should give similar performance.
The Prather 225 or Octura X645 are larger props that you could consider if you want to go bigger.

PS if you haven't sharpened props before the Copper Beryllium props are easier to work with than the stainless steel. Stainless is harder steel and takes more effort to file/sand the prop into shape. Or purchase an already balanced and sharpened one.
PPS Looking at the Leopard site confirms the 1450 is indeed a D wind motor.Comment

I know the stock crap does not last but these items you bought will work awesome!
I would try an M445 or a Prather 225 on that motor when running 6s.NAMBA20...Caterpillar UL-1, P-Spec OM29, P-Mono DF33, P-Spec JAE, Aussie 33" Hydro-LSH, Sprintcat CC2028 on 8s, PT SS45 Q Hydro, PS295 UL-1 power, OSE Brothers Outlaw QMono 4-sale, Rio 51z CC2028 on 8sComment
