Need help with ose water jacket

I am trying to put a waterjacket on my spartan motor but the o rings are breaking or poping out. I appied plenty of oil and am using a twisting movement, just really not a good morning.

if your using the stock motor you will need to remove the 3 screws at one end of the motor, you will not get the jacket to slip over them. and be carefull not to strip the socket heads of the screws use the correct size allen key to remove them. to assist in removing the screws apply a bit of heat to the heads using a lighter, this will melt the locktite holding them in.

You should also try using like dieletric grease i'n stead if oil . Oil will ruin the o rings.... If it's like motor oil or any petroleum based oil it'll ruin the o rings. They do go on kind of hard . Have one on the stock motor and one on my leopard that's currently i'n the boat. Also you might have to mildly heat up the screws on the motor to break the loctite loose. Good luck !

the jackets for the spartan motors or any other smooth case motor have a groove for the oring to sit in so im not sure how there comming out like that.
the jackets for the castle creation motors dont have a groove as the fins are on the motor to hold the orings.

Is there such a thing as metric o rings? I don't remeber the size I got but it looked right on.

because if it were the correct one the jacket would just slip straight on with out any dramas at all.
