    Tacon Motor?

    Tacon Motor?
Hello, I will be using this esc-

    http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...idProduct=8946

Turnigy Marine 120A Brushless Boat ESC
    Constant Current: 120A
    Burst Current: 240A
    Resistance: .0007ohm
    Battery: 2-6S Lipoly
    BEC: 3A/6v
    Motor Type: Sensorless Brushless
    Size: 94 x 33 x 18mm
    Weight: 91g

What kv motor should I get for 6s running. I am leaning to 1700kv for the speed increase.

    1300kv

    1700kv

Either motor will work. You might have more heat with the 1700kv, but you can try propping small. Also, use a separate BEC since running the esc at the max voltage rating. What hull is this going to be run in?

I recommend a 180amp esc and a Leopard 4082 1500kv. OSE also has some new motors worth looking at too that are in stock.

Agreed 4082 1500kv is a beast of a motor...... it will give you more punch and still plenty of rpms.. jpriami hit 58mph with one just to show you how fast those things go. The motors your looking at are a much smaller can and only put out around 2200-2400 watts and a 4082 puts out 3500watts big difference

i have many tacon motors in misc. rc things and have had no problems, i would say that the one in my losi mini-t out performs the C.C. that was in it previously and has already outlasted it for 1/6th or less the price at $11
too much power not in the FE racing dictionary

I have a tacon 4074 2000kv which I have yet to run in my mg. I'm going to try it out this weekend if it performs anywhere near what my 4074 leopard did then ill be very happy

                    If I had this boat I would go Tacon 1300kv on 6S, 2P and a T-180.

I'm starting out with Tacon 1700kv in my Spartans.

Haven't run them yet to give you an opinion on them though.

                          Good Question,

The 4074 would be nice because the 40mm can should provide better torque, but I don't know anything about these new Keda motors.

I haven't run my Tacon motors yet, but a google search reveals most people are getting good performance and reliability from them.

So the question is do you go with something new and relatively untested (I haven't found much info on them yet), or with something that has some history behind it.

They also could be great motors at a decent price??

being these motors are close in power I would run the Tacon 1700kv motor and save a few bucks at the same time
biggest reason for me is the lower kv over the other
it will be plenty fast with the Tacon motor.. mid to upper 50's will be no issue for it

Great motor hit my best in my mg with a tacon 4074 2000kv on 6s and a x642 prop. But my run time was a little over 3 mins with 5300mah packs. Never hit over 105 degreed on either esc or motor did hit 119 at my battery connectors so I'm definetly drawing some serious amps but well worth it
