well after frying my stock ESC to a crisp
i have managed to get my boat up and running again.
i have had a cc1515 and a t-180esc installed.
took out for a quick crack today batteries weren't fully charged but will give a good charge tonight and hit the pond again tomorrow.

Lookin' good and 97 kph is impressive.

Seemed to be running steady at high speed, even with the warping on the hull after the fire.

You could sure see it torque over to the right the occasional time you punched it.

two thumbs way up for the new setup.

What is the kv rating of the cc 1515 motor?

I asked this over on the Traxxas Forum, but will duplicate here as well for the benefit of all to know.

Have you noticed any drive line overheating like Jpriami reported??

Just curious because of the RPM's you are turning with that 2200kv motor.

JP is trying to torque a lot bigger prop than the 220, just trying to get a feel for torque load vs. rpm on this drive line heating issue.

had no issues yet but my mate snapped his cable of at the prop shaft running the same set up,.
but he had the stock plastic prop on.

i dont understand how he is getting the blueing when there is a nylon insert very strange.

i did notice when i greased mine today that there seems to be a minute gap spiraling up the cable.

Well, thats the story I'm going with. The Spartan doesn't have a good track record so I'm going to lean on her failures.

When you say lost, do you mean failed, or literally "lost".... gone..... missing.

The stock collet is about as chintzy as they come, and some owners have had problems with them releasing while running.

Mine releases when the cable heats up and begins to size up.

I don't know who makes these, but they are a three piece collet I picked up from Kintec Racing.

They are definitely heavy duty. They are a tight fit, but there is enough room to loosen them off and release the cable.
