Well, It finally happened. I was out on the dock with my Neighbor and his Revolt 30, kids were running around, other neighbor was hanging out watching... too many distractions led do my buddy T-Boning me at full throttle. It wasn't pretty. (to add insult to injury, NO damage to the Aquacraft
) He did offer to replace my hull, but I would rather attempt to fix it first. It was an accident.
The repairs are already underway. Put a little CA glue in the crack to hold it together, then used Marine Epoxy/Marine Tex on the inside to rejoin the cap to the hull, filled the outside with Marine Tex also, lots of sanding, glazing putty, and more sanding and this is where I am today. (Crash was Saturday afternoon) I did add the same epoxy to the other side for extra strength and balance. I think it's stronger now than it was before. I've used Marine Tex on full size boats for years. I don't think there is much that is stronger once it hardens.
Side Note: The Revolt is clearly faster out of the box. A Prop upgrade is in order with my new paint job. We are both running the exact same 6200 MAH 50C 2s batts x2)
