    Pro Boat Impulse V2 collet

Just purchased impulse V2, little disappointed in motor to shaft connection, do we know yet if a collet from one of the other brushless boats can be substituted, Geico or Blackjack?

Can someone please post a picture of exactly what it is they are concerned with about this collet?? Did they change something from the original one??

I've been running these collets under extreme racing conditions for well over a year and have yet to have a single issue with one. Mine have been straight, secure, and pretty much trouble free. I'm curious as to what may have changed, if anything, or if this is just an "expectations" thing with the complaints??

That being said... OSE sells the Octura 5mm to .150" collets that work very well. You'll probably have to provide clearance on the motor mount under the collet to fit one to the boat.

Here's one that's a perfect fit for just $10... http://kintecracing.com/Collets_Couplers.html - scroll down to the "Octura Collet, Short For 5mm Motor Shaft and .150 Flex Cable." - Be sure to get the SHORT ONE, the long one will not fit, not enough room.

                Problem solved.

I use the long Octura couplers on mine... but I usually modify the motor shafts to increase the slot length. Motor mount is slotted and can be moved forward a bit as well.

                    Darin,
Are you reducing the length of motor shaft a bit, then putting a flat spot back on for the grub screw??

On my IM (V1), there's just enough room for the short Octura even with the motor mount moved all the way back - towards the bow.

Needless to say, I am interested in your mod.

Thanks for sharing that with us, appreciated.
