    1500 vs 1800 motor

what one will give you more speed? I know the 1500 has more torque but what will that do for a boat?

I guess the best is just trial and error?

The 1800 will give better speed on this boat. A large prop upsets many monos, promoting chine walk and handling problems. The 1800 will still spin a smaller but adequate sized prop faster. The 1500 will draw less amps if propped appropriately and extend run time.

I have a grim 40x53 would it work better with the 1500 I get less performance out of the 1800 vs stock.

You'll be slower with that small, low pitch prop on a 1500 Kv motor. I believe that is smaller than the stock Impulse prop.

I don't understand the last part of your sentence. The Impulse comes with an 1800 Kv motor as the stock motor.....

that prop with the 1500 kv on 6s, now you're talking some speed. Don't know about a 60 amp speedo though.

As Fluid has said that 40 x 53 is to small only 2.08" pitch, The stock prop is 2.51" pitch. Martin.
