Why Feigao? Stock motor for this boat is the best. Try X642 prop for much better speeds and LiPo batteries....

I agree. The stock motor has more poles, more torque, and will run on up to 6s.

...but if you run 6S you probaby need a different ESC, right?

Right! I think a turnigy 120 would be an economical replacement. I have a couple of these and they work great!

I just bought a fastech (thanks airman) that is setup perfectly. It has aftermarket hardware by quanum and goes about 40 with 4s and a x642 prop sharpened and balenced. I just put a turnigy 120a esc in it and am curiouse how well this boat handles on 6s with stock motor. To see pics of it search the swap shop for proboat combo.

I'd try it out on 5s with what you got. Watch those motor temps!

my greatest concern is the handling. Dad calls his the "troublemaker" and it routinely does endos (just on 12 cells NiMH). Personally, I would not push this guy beyond the 4S... but then that's me. (I like to have boats for all occasions, hull specific for a task, and the FT is not gonna perform like a deep vee oval racer).

that said, no reason not to try it - just be sure you have lots of flotation and the hatch does too. Have the rescue craft/system ready and like Forescott said, watch the temps.

I just ran 52 on radar with a nue moter, seaking 180, x642 on 4S. Super stable running very wet.

Have you tried dog-earing the trim tabs per Darin's setup thread? Mine runs rock solid. Also check your strut angle,

52KM/hour is no big deal!!! That is only 32.31 MPH, fastech should do this out of the box....
